"We found the process stress free!"

Joe Hebblewhite & Emma Shaw

Having rented a flat in Leeds City Centre after graduating from university, Emma Shaw, a primary school teacher, and her partner Joe Hebblewhite, a business development manager, were looking to take their first step on to the property ladder.

Despite Emma and Joe saving money whilst renting to put towards a deposit, they knew that saving the full 10% deposit for their new home was unrealistic. The couple applied for the Help to Buy scheme, which allows first time buyers to secure a property with just a 5% deposit, and a loan from the government.
Emma and Joe bought their three-bedroomed home on the David Wilson development, Fountain Head Village in Halifax.

“They say that buying a house is one of the most stressful experiences you will go through, however we found it the exact opposite!”

“Our sales adviser, Jacqueline, told us straight away what we needed to do, who we needed to phone and when. We felt so supported throughout the experience and we couldn’t recommend them enough.”

“The cul-de-sac location of our home on this development puts our minds at ease when letting our future children outside to play.”

“We love our large garden, which is perfect for family BBQ’s and wouldn’t be cramped even with play equipment in it, for when we do decide to have a family.”

The Fountain Head Village development provides a fantastic opportunity for Emma and Joe to enjoy the country walks that they craved in their previous residence, whilst having access to local amenities such as a gym and a local pub on their doorstep.

“The home itself is spacious, and having bought off plan we were able to choose the kitchen and bathroom fittings and make the house our own to our personal taste.”

“We also knew the house would be decorated neutrally which saved us a lot of money on the cost of redecorating which we would have had to pay if we hadn’t bought a new build property.”

The development also boasts great transport links and even has a bus stop.

On site to help the couple was sale adviser, Jacqueline Smith.
“It is wonderful to see first time buyers enjoying the benefits of the Help to Buy scheme to make their dream home a reality. I love being part of the process, and am so pleased that Emma and Joe had a great experience when buying their first home.”
