After owning a three bedroom 1930's style semi-detached house for the last 7 years, Sam and Helen Jones have just moved to the brand new four bedroom home at Orion Homes' Leafield Gardens development in Wrenthorpe.

After the birth of beautiful daughter Ruby‚Äč, the couple felt the time was right to upsize to a brand new home that meets their family needs. Both Sam, an energy consultant, and Helen, a secondary school teacher, wanted to remain in the local area where they have both grown up and work close to.

After taking a while to find the right property and a couple of reserved properties falling through, the detached four bedroom property with its large rear garden, spacious kitchen/diner and master bedroom ensuite was seen as the ideal home that met both Sam and Helen's long-term family needs.

"We loved our old home, but the maitanence costs were high and took up a lot of our time. We wanted somewhere new with a garden for Ruby. Its perfect here."

While looking for their perfect family home, both Sam and Helen read up on the Help to Buy scheme as it is promoted with a lot of new build developments. Given the couples long-term career and family aspirations, both Sam and Helen knew the Help to Buy scheme was perfect for them.

"For any young person struggling to get on the property ladder, Help to Buy is perfect! we went through a mortgage broker and found the entire process stress-free and really simple!"

The Help to Buy scheme allows homebuyers to buy a brand new home up to the value of £600,000 with a 5% deposit, thanks to a 20% loan from the government. Homebuyers can then gain access to more affordable lending rates available with a 75 per cent loan to value mortgage. The equity loan is interest free for five years and can be paid back when the property is sold, allowing homebuyers to benefit from any potential uplift in house prices.
