"It couldn't suit us better"

The Zvimba Family

The Help to Buy scheme has helped a lot of people since it initially started in 2013 with latest figures showing that 73,813 properties have been bought through the scheme, and Nkosinathi and Berth Zvimba are the proud owners of one of those homes.

Nkosinathi Zvimba, 40 and Berth Zvimba, 35 wanted a brand new stylish yet practical home for their three young children to grow up in whilst being close to a range of good schools.

They found their dream home on Redrow’s Nostell Fields development in Wakefield.

“As soon as we saw the properties we were particularly impressed with the quality and designs of the homes. They have so much style and character, but as well as looking attractive they are practical too, with open plan layouts and plenty of space, which is just what we needed for ourselves and our children.”

Nostell Fields boasts a collection of three and four-bedroom homes in the village of Croften just south east of Wakefield City Centre. Prices for the remaining four-bedroom homes start at £234,950 and are perfect for families.

The Zvimba’s bought an Oxford house type, which is a four-bedroom property with an open plan kitchen and dining area with plenty of space for everyone in the household to enjoy time together, along with an elegant lounge. All four bedrooms are generously sized, with even the smallest offering impressive proportions.

“We went for the Oxford because it ticked all the demands of what, for us, was our perfect home. It has lots of room downstairs and bedrooms which are big enough for everyone.”

“Plus, for Kuda, 14, Nandie, 10, and Jacob, 4, there are lots of great schools around. All the amenities are in walking distance and there are so many recreational areas close by like Nostell Priory. It couldn’t suit us better.”

“We sold our old house in the Middleton area of Leeds within a week of agreeing to reserve the new property and the equity from that gave us a decent deposit. We used the Help to Buy scheme which made purchasing this house far more affordable and our mortgage repayments are as low as possible.”

Patsy Aicken, Sales Director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), said “With its 20% equity loan and only a 5% deposit required, Help to Buy can really help people get moving and enjoying a new home as soon as possible.”

“We have a good mix of properties for first-time buyers, growing families or people who are downsizing, not least at our Nostell Fields Development.”
