Horsforth is a picturesque and leafy suburb in North Leeds, with a great range of schools, shops, transport links and restaurants available. Let's take a look at what makes this area of Leeds so desirable. 



Green spaces

Horsforth Hall Park is a large community space, boasting scenic walks, a cricket pitch, playgrounds for kids and a beautiful Japanese garden. Perfect for a quiet Sunday morning walk, this park is one of the many green spaces throughout Horsforth. The Park also hosts a number of events throughout the year, ensuring that there's always something happening in Horsforth. 

Schools

Horsforth is a popular area for families - no doubt because of the wide choice of high quality schools in the area. Horsforth School is an award-winning science secondary school and there are a great range of primary schools with great Ofsted scores. Leeds Trinity University is also based in Horsforth. 

Shopping

As well as being close to Leeds City Centre, with all its shopping malls and arcades, Horsforth has its own selection of stores. Town Street boasts a wide range of shops, restaurants and even a supermarket. With independent gift shops, antique shops and clothes boutiques, Horsforth is a great place to splash your cash.

Pubs and bars

Horsforth has a growing number of bars and pubs, making it the perfect location for a relaxed drink with friends or a tasty Sunday lunch. There are wine bars, sports bars and traditional pubs, all welcoming and friendly. From the Brownlee Arms, named after local Olympic medalists, to stylish cocktail bar, Medusa, you'll have plenty of choice and will find your new 'local' in no time. 



Transport 

With its own train station on the line from Harrogate to Leeds and frequent bus routes going to surrounding areas, as well as Leeds City Centre, Horsforth is an ideal suburb for commuters. It's also located near Leeds Bradford Airport - perfect for jetsetters looking to escape the winter weather. 

Things to do

As well as the Park, Horsforth has some other great attractions. Horsforth Village Museum features a range of exhibits showcasing the area's history. Crafty folks can have a great afternoon painting pottery at Firefly Pottery. Animal lovers can meet the animals of None Go By Farm and buy some fresh produce from the farm shop. The beautiful ruins of Kirkstall Abbey aren't too far away, and nearby Leeds boasts a range of theatres, cinemas and museums.
