Make the most of your garden this summer

May 2016

With the summer months coming up fast and the hope of some warm weather rife in the air, there’s no better place to enjoy the British sunshine than in your own garden.

Whether you want to relax after a hard day of work in the last of the days sunshine, or you want to make the most of a sunny weekend, your garden is the perfect place to chill with your friends and family, have a BBQ and indulge in a bit of gardening.

With the UK summer being an unpredictable one, planning a BBQ is pretty difficult, but making sure you’re ready and prepared for a spontaneous BBQ is the key to making the most of a sunny day. If you’ve not stocked up on burgers or hotdogs, fear not! Why not make some chicken, pepper and tomato skewers or throw some steaks on the BBQ for a tasty meal.

Summer is also perfect for gardening, spending a day tending to your plants can do wonders, not only have you achieved something with your day, you’ve also made your garden look amazing.

Growing your own vegetables is perfect for experts and beginners alike. Home grown vegetables are tastier than shop bought and you only have to nip in to your garden to pick them up instead of queuing up in a supermarket. Vegetables such as beans and carrots can be planted in spring ready to be harvested in summer and planting cabbages, lettuces and cauliflower in late July will create a bumper harvest in the cooler months. Summer is the perfect season to enjoy your outdoor space. Socialising, decorating and tending to your garden are only some of the activities out there to make the most of sunny days, so enjoy your brand new garden, sit back and enjoy the summer!
