Halloween at York Maze | 13th - 31st October

Take a ride on Ghostmania to scare aware the cheeky ghosts, descend into the Mystery Mineshaft Maze to discover its spooky secrets and follow the Spooky Trail. Do you want to meet Halloween owls? Or even HOLD creepy crawlies? There is fun for all the family this Halloween at York Maze.

York Dungeon City Bus Tour | 14th October & 21st October 

See famous, and infamous, locations in and around the city and learn all about the weird and wonderful tales from 2000 years of dark history, all led by characters from The York Dungeon itself. Each tour begins and ends at Clifford’s Tower.

Illuminated Abbey, Whitby | 21st October - 5th November

Whitbey Abbey will be illuminated Wed 25 - Tue 31 Oct 2017 between 6pm-9.30pm. Tickets start from just £3.00. For more information click here. 

Also, between 11am and 4pm, families are welcome to hear a spooky tale or two and head out on a Halloween challenge trail. Follow clues and keep your eyes peeled for creepy cut outs about the site. Then find out the gruesome truth about life expectancy in Victorian England from our undertaker.  Halloween fancy dress encouraged! Tickets will be available to purchase at the event site on the day.

Frightwater Valley - Lightwater Valley, Ripon | 27th -30th October

Be prepared for full filled spooky day out at the annual Halloween spooktacular. All manner of creepy ghouls and beasties lurk within the Valley, so tread scarefully as they celebrate shocktober in style. Choose from and experience a whole host of mini, mega and ultimate scares but remember… the darker the night the scarier the fright.

Halloween Ghost Trains - Kirklees Light Railway | 28th – 30th October

Dare you climb aboard the Halloween Ghost Train for an evening of frights to scare even the strongest of souls? Test your nerves aboard the ghost train taking you along their spooky line to the haunted woods!

Halloween Trail, Old Coastguard Station, Robin Hood’s Bay | 29 - 30 October

Join in the Halloween spirit at the Old Coastguard Station where chilling clues lead you to a spooky prize. Meet above the slipway at the bottom of Robin Hood’s Bay village to start your haunted Halloween trail.

York Dungeon:

York Dungeon are organising lots of Halloween events, from Trick or Treat Walking Tours, Ghost Cruise on the Ouse, York Dungeons City Bus Tours and Late night openings at York Dungeon.  

Trick or Treat Walking Tours | 21st - 31st October, 11am & 4pm

Join characters from The York Dungeon on a tour around the city of York, where they will reveal the dark secrets from the past that lurk on every street. This event is just for families, meaning less scares, more fun and a loads of surprising stories! The 11am session is for ages 6 - 10 and the 4pm session is for ages 10+.

Ghost Cruise | 28th & 31st October

Sail along the famous river of York, as The York Dungeon reveal some of the creepiest and ghastly stories rumoured to have taken place in the city. Take in the sights of York’s riverside and get into the Halloween spirit. Sailinga at 7pm for ages 6 - 10 and sailings at 8:30pm are for ages 10+.

Forbidden corner | 21st - 31st October

From Saturday 21st October to Tuesday 31st October, Forbidden Corner will be having Halloween themed events.

If you visit on any day between these dates you can take part in The Forbidden Corner Halloween Quiz, with prizes for those that can find the lost bones hidden throughout our gardens.

On Sunday 29th October, we are holding our Fancy Dress Competition. Get on your best scary costume and you could win a prize.
