The summer is finally here! We have put together a list of activities to do for the months of July and August in the North East!

 

Teesmade Festival – Preston Park museum, Sunday 30th July 10am-4pm

The Teesmade family festival is a celebration of heritage skills and crafts from around Tees Valley and the surrounding area.

Try traditional skills from the past with hands on demonstrations. Plus, shop local stalls selling bespoke handmade gifts.

The event takes place on Sunday 30th July 10am-4pm and entry is free. Find out more information here
 

Sunderland International Airshow – Roker and Seaburn beach, Friday 21st July - 23rd July.


The Sunderland Airshow is one of the largest seafront airshows in the UK and the only major airshow in the North East. It is a showcase for incredible aerial displays, acrobatics, vintage aircraft and, back on the ground, music and family entertainment.

The event will be jetting back to Sunderland on July 21 for the traditional launch night before the main showcase event takes place on the July 22-23 weekend, 10am – 6pm on both days.

The scene is set for another spectacular show which will also feature the return of the Royal Air Force’s Typhoon and Aerobatic teams and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

The Coastline Festival – Cross Butts Farm, Whitby - Saturday 19th August 13:30 - 23:00.


Following the enormous success of last years festival, COASTLINE returns and this year we are going to be having a disco.... by the sea....in a massive marquee!

This years festival will be celebrating the best of disco, funk and soul. Like last year throughout the day there will be a load of great bands & djs celebrating this fantastic genre culminating in an out of this world finale by a generation defining headline band in the stunning surrounds of the unique location.

However as well as fantastic music this year will also see Coastline host a sensational food and drink fayre showcasing the very best of the North Yorkshire coast, including drink tents from Blacksheep Brewery and The Great Yorkshire Brewery. The night will also be working alongside the world famous Whitby Regatta.

An ideal summer event for the family, Coastline takes place on Saturday 19th of August and starts at 13:30 to 11pm. Tickets are just £25 for Adults, £10 for people aged under 16 and children 3 and under are free and don't require a ticket. Tickets for the event can be purchased here
 

Kirkby Fleetham Feast - Kirkby Fleetham Village Green, Saturday 12th August from 12pm – 11pm.


Don't miss this friendly family fun event. Lots to see and do for everyone. Stalls and activities include the scrumptious homemade Yorkshire teas in the village hall, a beer tent, hot BBQ food, added to a filled arena schedule, sidestalls and a marquee packed with local produce, fruit, flowers and veg, arts and crafts and more. This is a perfect outdoor occasion for any family to enjoy this summer.

The event takes place on Saturday 12th August from 12pm – 11pm where entry to the event is free. More information about the event can be found here
 

Atlas Festival - Scampston Hall Parkland, Malton - Saturday 29th July - 30th


Atlas Festival is coming to the UK on the 29th and 30th July 2017! Atlas is a celebration of music, food, drinks, and entertainment from around the world. Appealing to globetrotters, seasoned travellers, those with a love of dreaming of faraway lands or those who just want to experience a festival showcasing something a little different.

There are several countries to explore, and with over 60 different classes, workshops, musicians, performers, inspirational speakers, outdoor activities, films, and secret areas to keep you entertained all weekend, there really is something for everyone.

Featuring jazz, world music, pop, rock, drum 'n' bass, indie, hip hop, rap, techno, r'n'b, dance, electronic, plus plenty more genres, Atlas really does have music to tickle most ears.

Paul Chowdhry: Live innit – The Whitam, Barnard Castle, Friday 8th September, 8pm.


If stand-up comedy is what you are looking for this summer then we have just the occasion for you.

Following his 100 date, sell-out 2015 tour, popular TV comic Paul Chowdhry is to bring his brand new show to Barnard Castle this Autumn. A rich comedy talent, the London-born comedian and actor will perform his highly anticipated new stand-up show Paul Chowdhry: Live Innit to The Witham.

An electrifying performer, Chowdhry tackles subjects such as race, relationships modern Britain with confidence and occasional, hilarious brutality.

A regular face on British television, Chowdhry has appeared on Dave's Taskmaster, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Very British Problems, and hosted the final series of Channel 4’s Stand Up for the Week. He has also performed two headline slots on BBC2’s Live at the Apollo, and played Channel 4’s prestigious Comedy Gala at the O2 Arena for four consecutive years.
